A massive F5 category tornado tore through Greensburg, Kansas, on May 4, 2007, flattening the town and killing eight people there. Packing winds up to 205 miles an hour (330 kilometers an hour), the twister was the first F5 storm recorded in the United States since 1999. Above: A doorway is all that remains of Greensburg High School.
